Questions
Studying in Japan, answered.
Requirements and limits are set by institutions, immigration and HRD Korea, and they change. Confirm current rules with us before you plan around them.
What classes does Kizuna Education Foundation Hub run?
Two language tracks. Japanese at N5 and N4, with JLPT, JFT-Basic and skill test model exams. Korean at basic and advanced level, with EPS-TOPIK model exams. After the language, we help students with study-abroad applications to Japan.
Which Japanese levels do you teach?
N5 and N4. N5 starts from the writing systems and basic grammar; N4 is the level most Japanese language schools and work routes treat as a real starting point. Higher levels are usually reached in Japan itself.
What is the difference between the JLPT and JFT-Basic?
The JLPT is the general proficiency certificate, graded N5 to N1, and is what institutions ask for. JFT-Basic tests everyday Japanese at roughly A2 level and is used on the Specified Skilled Worker route. We prepare students for both, and run model exams for both.
What are the skill test model exams?
Sector-specific tests sat alongside JFT-Basic on Japanese work routes, covering the practical knowledge of a particular industry. We run model versions under exam conditions so candidates know the format before they pay to sit the real one.
Do you teach Korean?
Yes, at basic and advanced level. Basic covers Hangul, pronunciation and the core vocabulary. Advanced works on listening speed and reading under time pressure, which is where most EPS-TOPIK candidates lose marks.
What is the EPS-TOPIK?
The Employment Permit System Test of Proficiency in Korean: the Korean language test that candidates must pass to enter the Employment Permit System. It is competitive rather than simply pass-or-fail, so the mark matters and not only the pass. It is administered by HRD Korea, which sets the announcements, the quotas and the dates.
Do you prepare candidates for the EPS-TOPIK?
Yes. Advanced Korean classes are built around it, and we run full-length model exams under exam conditions, marked and then worked through question by question.
How can I study in Japan from Nepal?
Most students begin at a Japanese language school in Japan, then move into a vocational college or a university. You choose an institution, apply through it, and the school files a Certificate of Eligibility application with Japanese immigration. Once that is granted you apply for the student visa at the embassy in Kathmandu. Basic Japanese is the entry requirement, which is why the classes come first.
What Japanese language level do I need to study in Japan?
Language schools generally expect beginner level Japanese or a documented number of study hours, which is what N5 and N4 classes provide. Vocational colleges commonly ask for around N2, reached in Japan. Universities vary between Japanese-taught and English-taught programmes.
Can Nepali students work part-time in Japan?
Students may apply for permission to engage in activity outside the scope of their status, which allows limited part-time hours alongside study. Working without that permission puts your residence status at risk. The hour limits are set by immigration and change, so confirm them at the time you apply.
How much do the classes cost?
Fees depend on the track and the level, and we would rather quote you the current figure in person than publish one that goes out of date. Call the office on 01-4546740 or message us on WhatsApp and you will get a straight answer.
