Japanese is where most of our students start, and it is the part of going to Japan that cannot be shortened or bought. Classes run from N5, the beginner level, through N4, in Kathmandu.
Alongside the classes we run model exams: JLPT, JFT-Basic and the skill tests used for work routes. A model exam under real conditions is the cheapest way to find out what you have not learned yet, and it costs a fraction of resitting the certified test.
Once the language is in place, the study-abroad side of the work begins: choosing an institution in Japan, preparing documents and getting the application right. Language first, application second. In that order it works.
JLPT
Japanese-Language Proficiency Test
The standard certificate of Japanese level, recognised by institutions and employers in Japan.
JFT-Basic
Japan Foundation Test for Basic Japanese
Tests everyday Japanese at roughly A2 level. Used for the Specified Skilled Worker route.
Skill test
Sector skill tests
Model exams for the sector-specific tests sat alongside JFT-Basic on work routes.
Where the Japanese track leads
N5 and N4 in Kathmandu are not the destination, they are the entry requirement. Almost every route into Japan - language school, vocational college, university, or the Specified Skilled Worker track - asks for a documented Japanese level before it will consider an application.
Once the level is there, the study-abroad side begins: choosing the institution, preparing the documents, and getting the application right the first time.
The next chapter is waiting.
It starts with one class, and one conversation.
