The Korean track exists for one reason: the EPS-TOPIK. It is the test that stands between a candidate in Nepal and the Employment Permit System, and it is a competitive test rather than a pass-or-fail one, so a mark that would be a pass anywhere else is not necessarily enough.

Classes run at basic and advanced level. Basic covers Hangul, the sound system and the vocabulary the test draws on; advanced works on listening speed and reading under time pressure, which is where most candidates lose marks.

We run full-length EPS-TOPIK model exams under exam conditions and go through the paper afterwards, question by question. Sitting the real test without having sat a model one is how a year gets lost.

Employment Permit System Test of Proficiency in Korean

The Korean language test for the Employment Permit System. Administered by HRD Korea; announcements and quotas come from them, not from us.

The exam is the whole game

The EPS-TOPIK is competitive, not simply pass-or-fail, which means a mark that would be comfortable on an ordinary language test is not necessarily enough. Listening speed and reading under time pressure are where candidates lose marks, and both are trainable.

That is what the advanced class and the full-length model exams are for. Announcements, quotas and test dates come from HRD Korea, so check their notices for the current cycle and we will tell you what we know.
